In today's lesson we were looking at writing describing using the senses.
Your task in the lesson was to describe a setting/situation/event you were given using the one of these four senses; hearing, sight, touch, smell.
Post your descriptive paragraphs on here and make sure you remember to leave your name on the post so we can see you've done it.
If you want to comment on another person's post you can do but make sure you are constructive; if you like the piece you must say why you like. Be specific.

ReplyDeleteI was just about to pick up my glasses when i felt a person lying on the cruddy floor. I ran my hands over their wrist to see if they had a pulse. I felt nothing. I tried to feel in their pocket to get information. I only found their mobile. I tried contacting someone to get help but i couldn't read the buttons clearly as i have a bad eyesight. The only thing i could do was to call for help. So i yelled at the top of my voice till someone was kindhearted enough to care for this poor person.

ReplyDeleteI was walking along the path with the cars rushing past me when i noticed two figures standing there in the dark. I carried on walking trying to ignore them but i couldn't help myself, so i had to stare, i saw on of the men take out something from his pocket and he hit the other person with it, then he collapsed. Running to the body i checked the pulse to see if he was still breathing but i arrived too late, i looked around for the killer but he has seemed to have disappeared. I got so scared so i called the police, 10 minutes later they arrived along with some detectives which has magnifying glasses and some other random equipment. They asked me so many questions like " did you see the weapon?, was the killer on the phone?, was there blood on the victim already?, did the killer have a car and was he driving of? Some more police cars turned up and they parked all around the place, it was so awkward. The detectives took loads of evidence from, and around the victim in little handkerchiefs. It was late so they told me to go home because it had been a long, long day.

as i entered the shopping centre, i saw a crowd of people with bright sirens surrounding the place. in the distance i saw the shoplifter getting carried away into the big police car. i then carried on walking through the crowd and finally reached the shop i wanted to go to. when i saw my one direction shampoo i ran to buy it! i then went home after the action at the shopping centre............

As I opened the front door my friends house I could feel something was not right. I turned the door handle, that's when I felt the dry blood wiped against the cold metal. Running towards the lifeless body in the middle of my friends hallway I did not know what to expect. I recognized the body, it was my friend. As I held her in my arms, hot tears running down my red face, I could feel her body growing colder and colder. Crying out angry at her, and myself for not being there earlier. Lifting her up I could feel the blood sticking my cloths to my skin. I was just too week, I slumped back down. Letting myself and her down. I sat in the cold room holding my friend in my arms.

I went shopping today and when I got there I smelt the horrible fish on the fish counter at the back of the supermarket. As I walked past the bakery section I smelt the fresh bread and cakes. The smell of the delicious cakes made me want to buy them. After paying I strolled through the car park looking for my car. The car fumes entered my nose and made me cough.

As i entered the shopping center the sound of the automatic doors slide open and the glass squeaking made my stomach churn as the thought of shopping exited my body. I took my first step and i heard the back ground music that shopping markets play from seven years ago. I strode over to the cake isle and heard a little girl maybe six or seven say "mummy i WANT it." I proceeded with my journey and collect my daily groceries and went to the check out I love the sound of the high pitched beep of the cash register as my groceries pass through. I then picked up my shopping and walked out of the center with another slide of the door and squeak of the glass and walked over to the car my footsteps getting louder as i reach the car i unlock it with yet another high "beep beep" put my groceries in and accelerated loudly, beeped my horn as a farewell and left.

Fruity, flowery, soapy I could smell all different types of fragrances as i walked into Lush. Every where I could smell of these heavenly scents i couldn't decide on what to buy as a present for Bateson. They had all sorts of smells from Cupcake to Rose Jam. Finally i decided to buy a delicious fresh honey smelling shampoo.

I walked into my living room and the smell of potpurri and cinnamon sticks blew me away. I went over to my christmas tree with a mild smell of pine. The kitchen was filled with the thick smell of burning but when you got pass the burning smell you could smell the delicous aroma of the christmas dinner, turkey and veg. For dessert we made a christmas cake but i didnt enjoy the smell of brandy so i ate a mince pie which smelt of pine, raisins and sugar.

9:45pm. It was a dark frosty night. Dim glimpses of the light of tall lamposts.It smelt damp and like it had been raining. That was weird as there was lots of sleet on the ground. There was no one around. Just me in the dark frost and damp smell. I almost slipped for there was so much sleet. Then as I came to the last lampost at the end of the street. I could smell something you wouldn't normally smell on a street. I walked on. The smell grew stronger. I noticed splatters of blood. Well I was pretty sure it was blood. I carried on walking to the end of the street. I noticed bigger splatters of blood and then I came across this dark shadow. Then as the lampost's light glittered sparks of light onto it. I found out then it was a person lay on the ground. This person seemed to be in his early sixties. Covering his waist were layers of blood falling out. With the slightly brighter glimpses of this dim light I found there was a knife with scarlet blood spread on it. I knew he wasn't sleeping or faint. His face was as pale as fresh paper. The smell was horrid. Sickening.This person had a small scar in the shape of a curvey triangle on the tip of his chin. A cool breeze of wind blew by and the smell spread. It was as if it was trapped in the cool air. His pale skin looked as frozen and as still as ice. The minor sparks of the lampost's light soon fade. They fade until there was no more light left. This person wasn't breathing. I walked off home. Thinking about that old man. Knowing there was no more of him left...

It was Christmas morning and i could hear the Christmas music playing in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteAs people started arriving later that day I could hear all the presents being torn open and the children screaming with excitement about the presents that have got!
As the music got louder in the back ground you could hear all the kids screaming while playing with there toys.
The music gradually got quieter and people starting going home.

As she slowly unwrapped the presents, the smoothness of the wrapping paper dazzled her, despite celebrating year after year. also, there was one wrapped in the brown paper post used to be wrapped in, and the roughness and the matted feel of it made her eyes sparkle. it made everything seem special, and made everything last longer.

I could hear flys buzzing around the body. I could also hear car racing past. There was a phone ringning near the body. I cold hear my heart pounding and my breathing getting louder and faster because i was in so much shock.
